Hi, my name is Laura and I am an illustrator and painter, drawing inspiration from anything and everything around me.  I sketch and paint on location, especially in London around Southwark and Bermondsey; areas full of tall, atmospheric warehouses and hidden streets.  I also love painting in the countryside, and exploring new places.

I like to experiment with a wide range of media, creating spontaneous images and trying to capture the essence of a place, person or object.  Drawing from life helps me to recreate the atmosphere of places I have visited - so you may see me sitting on the pavement painting!

I am fascinated by archaeology and history, and reconstructions and interpretations of sites and artefacts and I am currently studying on an MA course in archaeological illustration at Swindon College.  I am interested in magazine and book illustration and I often write poetry to accompany my illustrations.
